Hey everyone,
So I know it has been a few days since I've posted, but I have been pretty busy. I went for a run around Chelsea (the borough where I live), that was interesting. I took a bus tour, went to a modern art exhibit, went to two pubs, ate a falafel burger, went for a run in Hyde Park, walked around in Battersea Park, went to Westminster Abbey, got lost trying to find Soho Gyms in Earls Court, went grocery shopping at Poundland (Love the name), went to a Japanese festival and much much more. Today I hope to go the the Natural History Museum where the have an exhibit on The History of Britain. I also have class from 12:30 to 1:30 (the internship class) which I am probably dropping to take the Comparative Health Policy Class. It has been a world wind since I've gotten here and I feel like I have been here a lot longer than four days, but I will keep hitting places I want to go and see. This weekend a group of us might go to Wales. And next weekend a group of us might go to Edinburgh, Scotland. Should be fun! Facebook message me if you want to talk. Hey everyone,
So I am here, I'm in London, finally! The flight was 8 hours to get here, Then when I got to Heathrow I got my baggage went through customs and got on the tube. I had to buy an oyster card, (a pass to ride the "tube" or the underground. I figured out how to navigate the Piccadilly Line (the blue line), then I got off at Hammersmith and switched to the District Line (the green line). I took the green line to Sloane Square and got off there. From there is where the only struggle started for me. I needed to find my way to my address and there was no wifi to check my location and I had all of my luggage. So I asked a gentleman working a tube ticketing station how to get the the address that I took a picture of and saved on my phone (that was otherwise useless). I managed after about 30 minutes of walking to get to my address, I walked about a mile and a half with all of my luggage, and I wasn't even that far off. One thing you learn about London, there is a lot of walking. When I arrived finally at my destination I checked in, got up to my room and got settled. I went out to eat at a cafe that was not far from my residence with some other London Centre students. It was fun and very eye opening to British culture. For the water closet, they have one room for washing your hands in the same room, so guys and girls, and just the stalls are separated.
I also went to a grocery store and checked out some stuff, I just picked up bread and british peanut butter for tonight and will probably do more shopping tomorrow. While there I observed a bunch of stuff like the fact that they call buns, baps or that they have a lot of porridge and crumpets. I took a few shots of some of the stuff in my area and my food from lunch. Check it out:

So there are officially 13 days left until I leave for London. I will be living at the following address:
Mansion SW3, Manresa Road, Chelsea, London, SW3 6NA
It is really cool and very modern. Here is some info from FIE (Foundation for International Education's) website on the housing:
Mansion SW3 is situated just off the world renowned Kings Road, close to Chelsea neighbourhood amenities, including the Chelsea Library and Chelsea Sports Centre, both within two minutes’ walk of the residence. Two underground stations (Sloane Square and South Kensington) are a close walk or bus ride away as are the South Kensington area museums (Natural History Museum, V & A Museum, and Science Museum). Mansion SW3 is 20 minute walk to Foundation House while the Thames River is only a 5 minute walk from the residence with Battersea Park located directly across the river. Most interestingly the King’s Road has been the centre of contemporary popular culture for over 60 years and notably this world famous street was the centre of “Swinging Sixties” London fashion, art and music. In the 70s the area was the epicentre of the Punk Rock movement where world famous couturier Dame Vivienne Westwood ‘s shop SEX was located and from where she sold her amazing punk fashion clothes. Recently Sir Charles Saatchi moved what is the UK’s largest private contemporary art collection into the Saatchi Gallery located five minutes’ walk from Sloane Square underground station. Entrance to the Saatchi Gallery is free!
I am so excited and I can't wait to arrive. However, I am a bit nervous, but I mean that's to be expected.

Before the Trip! And so the countdown begins!

So I am leaving on September 24th for a ten week term in London England. I am pretty nervous, but extremely extatic. It is my first time out of the country and I will be learning a lot. As of now, my biggest fear is getting from Heathrow (the airport), largest in the world, to Metrogate, which is where I need to check in. Hopefully it works out and I can figure out how to use the tube. I have been told it is very easy, but I've only ridden once on a subway with my friend Emma so it could be difficult learning this new form of transportation for the first time. Well I will keep updating things as they happen and as I see fit. Keep your eyes out for more posts!
